pumpkin patch harvest: season finale

Jake says it is harvest night for the pumpkins. (Frost is imminent.) Jake says the pictures make it look like it's daylight(but it's really pitch black out.) Jake holds the flashlight in the second picture. Daddy wields the steely blade and ghostly hands.
They never turned orange, but they sure were a lot of fun.
A couple have names: Spot, Ghost, Pinky and Aardvark, Stripe 1, Stripe 2, Shorty and Melonhead. Okay, Dad made up those last six up. Two are going to the boys' schools to share the Americana pumpkin experience. One is going to cousin Jonaton who originally helped plant the seeds. One may go to Dad's teacher for all the new Swedish verbs she has taught him. Of course you know a couple will be carved for the front porch.
Overall, Dad says it was the best 70 cents he has spent since he has been in Sweden. It helped the family focus on something other than their move to a new land. Thanks for reading our pumpkin patch posts!
